To open and replace the fireproof covering of the five pillars of the local.

Dilalica invited some artists to develop a site-specific work for the gallery’s inaugural exhibition, based on its newly renovated gallery space.

After knowing that the requirements to obtain the activity license of the gallery forced extreme fire protection of the pillars, and the solution of MAIO architecture studio to cover them with plasterboard columns, this project proposes to discover them again, exposing them to the public and the risk of a fire or inspection.

In the exhibition, the project is presented with four drawings and a contract that specifies the conditions for its realization in case of an acquisition.

Exhibiting the columns
Graphite tracing paper drawing on paper with cardboard cutouts, one element of 28 x 42 cm; fireproof plasterboard plates, 20 elements 2 cm thick, 80 cm wide, and heights from 60 to 245 cm (variable measurements).
